He began his academic career as a medical student at Atatürk University in 1986, He completed his residency in general surgery at Gazi University in Ankara until 2000, He was later promoted to assistant professor in 2015 and then to associate professor in 2017 at Bahçeşehir University’s Faculty of Medicine in Istanbul in recognition of his outstanding scientific research.
Dr. Kaplan currently serves as the head of the Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Unit at NCR International Hospital in Gaziantep, where more than 200 obesity and nutritional assessments are conducted annually, And more than 500 other advanced endoscopic procedures, including surgeries on the colon, rectum, hernias, spleen, liver, and pancreas.
